MEDIA-I: Channel V signs up Hotlink for new interactive show

<p>KUALA LUMPUR: Channel V has rolled out By Demand, which it is </p><p>touting as Asia's first interactive television show. It is sponsored by </p><p>Hotlink, a prepaid service of telco Maxis Communications. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Star Group executive vice-president, programming, Steve Askew, said the </p><p>interactive element would give viewers the opportunity to mass produce </p><p>the show. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The station has established a short message service gateway, allowing </p><p>viewers to respond to issues or questions raised during the show, with </p><p>their collective decisions displayed on-air. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Viewers without access to SMS can interact with the show by telephone, </p><p>email, fax or mail. By Demand kicked off with a competition, Who wants </p><p>to be a Madonna-Aire? The top prize was a ticket for two to Madonna's </p><p>Drowned World live US tour. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Hotlink is also organising monthly webchats with By Demand VJs on </p><p>www.activateyourlife.com.my. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
