Media Edge adds $8m to India billings
<p>MUMBAI: Fresh from winning one of India's biggest media deals, The </p><p>Media Edge (TME) has scooped consumer goods company, the Parle Group's </p><p>combined media assignment worth US$8.5 million. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The confectionary and biscuit producer and distributor previously used a </p><p>roster of agencies for both media and creative. TME is no stranger to </p><p>Parle. The agency's chief executive, Divya Gupta, said: "Through one of </p><p>our sister agencies, Everest Integrated Communications, we were already </p><p>handling more than US$5.1 million of its work." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Parle owns 52-year old biscuit brand, Parle G, apart from Krackjack and </p><p>Monaco, candies Kismi Bar, Poppins and Toffy, and mango drink Frooti, </p><p>all handled by Everest Integrated Communications. It also has India's </p><p>leading mineral water brand Bisleri, serviced by Ambience D'Arcy. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The latest win allows TME to cap the last quarter on a high note. Before </p><p>the Parle Group triumph, TME had been appointed agency of record by </p><p>Indian conglomerate, the Tata Group, for its US$41 million </p><p>account, an assignment which is spread across 14 of its companies. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Following a highly successful last quarter, TME now handles media buying </p><p>for clients from a range of categories such as automobiles, watches, </p><p>hotels, tea and beverages, software consultancy and insurance. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
