The system combines new lightweight cameras and advanced satellite and internet communications technology, enabling correspondents to file stories faster and more efficiently than before to a variety of different media platforms, including television, wireless, radio and internet.
It was developed by CNN's New Delhi bureau and will be used by all the network's 28 international offices worldwide.
CNN International managing director Chris Cramer said the introduction of the system aimed to maintain the organisation's edge against competitors, such as BBC World and Bloomberg.
"CNN continues to be what all the competition strives to be - editorially sound and commercially strong," said Cramer.
