MECC chief executive Leigh Harry said: "This is
an exciting period for Melbourne, particularly as
construction on the new convention centre is about
to begin and it is timely to expand our team."
He added: "We must ensure the new convention
centre is a world leader, achieving a larger slice of
national and international business.
"We are focusing on areas of new business for
the 5,000-seat plenary hall and its facilities."
Petrina Gillespie will take on the director of
marketing role, responsible for development,
direction, implementation and co-ordination of marketing programmes.
Melissa MacCourt has been appointed director
of sales, while Clive Dwyer has been appointed
director of business development.
MECC expands executive sales team
MELBOURNE The Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) has expanded its executive team to maximise the potential of its new 5,000-seat convention centre, due to open in 2009.
