MEC wins Lane Crawford in China, AIG in Australia

BEIJING - Following the launch of its Beijing store last year, high-end retailer Lane Crawford has appointed MEC as its communications consulting partner in China.

MEC assisted Lane Crawford in the establishment of its Beijing premises, advising the brand on positioning strategy.

In its role as consultant, the agency will be responsible for ongoing servicing of the store, working alongside incumbent MindShare, appointed in April last year.

Lane Crawford’s Hong Kong media planning and buying will continue to be handled exclusively by MindShare.

Separately, American International Group (AIG), the global insurance company, has appointed MEC to handle its media business in Australia after a pitch with MindShare and OMD.

The company is new to Australia, and MEC’s first task is believed to involve launching AIG’s accident insurance business.
