MEC wins $13 million in new business

SINGAPORE - MEC has announced several year-end media planning and buying wins throughout the region that, it claims, total more than US$13 million.

MEC Adelaide took the AU$1 million (US$667,000) SkyCity Casino media account in conjunction with a competitive creative pitch that was won by Adelaide agency Jam Shop. The client had previously contracted OMD.

MEC has also won the media planning and buying account for Taiwanese confectioner Ferrero, ASO Shui-Mu International, Blockbuster and Baby Boss.

MEC Hong Kong has been awarded the D&G Watches and Jewelry account. The agency has worke on the luxury brand before, according to Tess Caven, MEC Asia-Pacific's marketing director.

Meanwhile, in Singapore, MEC teamed with Y&R to manage the account for SMU University following a competitive creative and media pitch mid-November.
