MEC South Asia appoints George COO

MUMBAI - MEC has announced a new role for Shubha George (pictured), the managing director of MEC India, who has now been promoted to the role of of COO of MEC South Asia.

The appointment follows the arrival of T Gangadhar, who joined the company as managing director of MEC India in 2008 reporting to George.

Gangadhar will continue to report to George.

In her new role George will focus her attention fully onto business development, particularly in the areas of digital and interaction (under MEC Interaction) and partnerships and entertainment (under MEC Access), along with the full integration of these services into the core MEC business.

She will also perform a regional Asia-Pacific role in the spread of initiatives such as e-learning, data outsourcing and digital integration. She will continue to report to Joost Dop, chief executive officer, Asia-Pacific for MEC.

“I am very excited to be taking on this wider business role and look forward to being able to import and export ideas within India and across the region, it’s an exciting time to be working on the integration of our business at all levels,” said George.

She has been with the agency since November 2004.
