MEC Singapore MD departs

SINGAPORE - MEC Singapore's managing director Lim Yew Nee (pictured) is departing the media agency after 18 months in the role.

Lim, who joined from MTV Asia in November 2006 to replace the outgoing Soonthorn Areerak, is believed to be returning to the media owner side of the business. No news of his next career move has been confirmed.

Joost Dop, chief executive of MEC Asia-Pacific, said: "In the 18 months that Yew Nee has been with MEC Singapore the agency has gone from strength to strength, winning some key local accounts (Singapore Grand Prix, Singapore Sports Council, National Council on Problem Gambling) and gaining recognition in award shows for innovation. We wish Yew Nee all the very best and shortly will be announcing our plans for future management of the MEC Singapore office".

Prior to MTV, Lim was VP of sales at Time magazine Asia.
