McKeon set for Bulldozer Australia launch

SYDNEY - JWT Australasia executive creative director Andy McKeon has stepped down from the role to launch the Australian arm of Bulldozer, an agency he founded in New York in 2005.

Bulldozer aims to provide both clients and agencies with solutions from package design, POS, branding and events, along with online, photography, TV production and traditional advertising.

“It’s been dormant while I have been working hard to get JWT in good shape, but now it’s time to crank it up and try the Bulldozer business model in Australia,” said McKeon.

“If I am going to be slaving away for the man, I might as well make that man me.”

Bulldozer will also work in partnership with The Open Intelligence Agency, which brings together strategic planning talent from across the globe, with operations in London, New York, Amsterdam and Sydney.

Meanwhile, JWT New Zealand chief John Gutteridge has joined the agency’s Melbourne office as managing director, headlining a host of changes for the network in Australia.

Reporting to Australia and New Zealand CEO Amy Smith, Gutteridge will oversee the agency’s creative output and business development.

In other moves, Richard Muntz, George Patterson Y&R CD has joined Gutteridge in Melbourne as executive creative director.

In Sydney, DraftFCB managing director Noel Magnus has come on board as CEO, while Andy DiLallo and Jay Benjamin have joined as joint executive creative directors.

Current Sydney MD Simon Fitch will oversee JWT New Zealand. “I am now shifting the agency up to the next level. The key is to integrate the diverse capabilities we have created into the new generation agency that will deliver magic for our clients,” said Smith.
