McDonald departs Revlon for Ogilvy PR

HONG KONG - Ex-Revlon and Ultima II regional senior marketing director Marion McDonald (pictured) is moving to Ogilvy PR as Asia-Pacific regional director of strategy and planning at the end of March.

Her key tasks will be leading internal training for the creative team and driving strategic planning for regional clients.

During an eight-year career in the beauty care industry, McDonald worked at Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser and Allergan prior to Revlon.

“Coming from a largely client background, you can bring tremendous skills to a communications agency,” said McDonald, who was also with WPP in Australia before moving to the client side of the industry.

McDonald will report to Christopher Graves, president and CEO of Ogilvy PR Asia-Pacific, who described her position as “one of the absolute hardest to fill”.

“It is a combination of social anthropologist, multi-discipline expert, coach, teacher, pitch leader and creator of big ideas,” explained Graves.

“ We finally found this combination in Marion, who has great experience in marketing and has also lived in Japan and China.” .

Other appointments within the network include that of, Rajan Moses from Business Times, who has been named MD for Ogilvy PR Malaysia, a position the agency has been looking to fill for some time.

In addition, Robert Barr of GCI New York is moving to the agency’s Indonesian operation in the same role.
