McCann's Ng leads Batey hires

SINGAPORE - Batey has hired McCann Erickson ECD Ng Tian It to head its creative department, along with Angie Ho to the newly-created position of manager of digital services.

Ng (pictured) will join the office next February following three years at McCann. At Batey, he will oversee key accounts such as SIA, Mercedes-Benz and Metro. When asked why he was moving, Ng told Media he "loves a challenge".

In a memo informing his staff yesterday, McCann CEO Sorab Mistry wrote, "Building on this incredible success at McCann, Tian It recently shared with me his dream of climbing even a bigger mountain. He wants to take up the challenge of leading Batey."

"As much as I appreciate my partnership with Tian It, it is not right for me to deny him that dream. So we end one milestone at McCann and start another era in our own road to fame."

Ng will replace outgoing Batey ECD Pablo Monzon, who joined Batey last year (Media, 9 May 2005).

Meanwhile, Ho will head Batey's existing digital unit. She joins from eBay and previous stints at Saatchis and Ogilvy.
