McCann scoops major win at agency awards

<p>MANILA: McCann-Erickson dominated last week's 4As Agency of the </p><p>Year Awards, taking th top spot of Agency of the Year and three out of </p><p>five category awards. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The agency also bagged Best in Management of Business, Best in Market </p><p>Perforamance and Best in Industry Leadership and Community Service. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The agency of the year win is the third for McCann Erickson which also </p><p>won the prize at the 1997 and 1998 awards in the Philippines. It </p><p>withdrew from the 1999 competition, according to Angel Guerrero,McCann's </p><p>business unit director. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Other winners included BBDO Guererro Ortega for Best in Creative and Leo </p><p>Burnett for Best in Media, as well as Industria for TV Production House </p><p>of the Year and Giraffe X for Print Production House of the Year. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>BBDO chairman and executive creative director, David Guerrero, said he </p><p>was pleased with the agency's new win and "just a little bit relieved to </p><p>win this recognition from our peers". </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"In particular because it reflects work done in only our second full </p><p>year of operations. It is also a very visible demonstration that our </p><p>focus on 'the work, the work, the work' is paying off," he said. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The agency's entry consisted of six pieces of work from its </p><p>multinational clients, including PepsiCo and Bayer. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
