MANILA: McCann-Erickson dominated last week's 4As Agency of the
Year Awards, taking th top spot of Agency of the Year and three out of
five category awards.
The agency also bagged Best in Management of Business, Best in Market
Perforamance and Best in Industry Leadership and Community Service.
The agency of the year win is the third for McCann Erickson which also
won the prize at the 1997 and 1998 awards in the Philippines. It
withdrew from the 1999 competition, according to Angel Guerrero,McCann's
business unit director.
Other winners included BBDO Guererro Ortega for Best in Creative and Leo
Burnett for Best in Media, as well as Industria for TV Production House
of the Year and Giraffe X for Print Production House of the Year.
BBDO chairman and executive creative director, David Guerrero, said he
was pleased with the agency's new win and "just a little bit relieved to
win this recognition from our peers".
"In particular because it reflects work done in only our second full
year of operations. It is also a very visible demonstration that our
focus on 'the work, the work, the work' is paying off," he said.
The agency's entry consisted of six pieces of work from its
multinational clients, including PepsiCo and Bayer.
