McCann restructures creative in Southeast Asia

BANGKOK - McCann Worldgroup Thailand has hired former Y&R regional creative director Martin Lee to oversee the agency's creative output across all disciplines, as chief creative officer.

Lee replaces Philip Rowell, who shifts to a new role working across the Singapore and Thailand markets on Southeast Asia-based regional client business.

"The mantra now is co-operation and closer working relationships, not just between disciplines, but also between markets and countries," said Mark Ingrouille (pictured), McCann's Southeast Asia area director.

"This is especially the case in Southeast Asia, where we don't want to create identikit offices in each country, but to allow each office to have an element of specialisation. Our digital centre is in Bangkok, our healthcare centre is in Singapore and our innovation centre is in Malaysia."

Rowell will also head up McCann's newly formed Creative Innovation Initiative, a team dedicated to producing more innovative strategies for brands.

Lee, a former president of the Singapore 4As, was ECD of Leo Burnett Singapore for seven years before joining Y&R as regional creative director. He joins McCann from Six Consulting in Singapore.
