TAIPEI: McCann-Erickson Taiwan has won the NTdollars 30 million
(USdollars 910,747) New York Life account in a four-way pitch against
DDB Needham, Bates and incumbent FCB.
The account is due to change hands effective May 1, said McCann client
service director Hope Chang, adding that the agency won the business by
avoiding the tired "consequences" approach.
"Instead we said insurance puts you in control and let's you enjoy your
life and have a positive attitude," said Chang.
New York Life is the second largest foreign insurer in Taiwan, behind
Aetna-ING. Dominating the market are local insurers Cathay Life, Nanshan
and Hsingwang.
