McCann Philippines wins Splash accounts

MANILA - McCann Erickson has won back-to-back accounts from Splash Corporation, a leading Filipino personal care firm, to become creative agency for its Biolink Tea Tree Oil and Virgin Coconut Oil brands.

The IPG agency had first beaten Creative Juice and AB Communications, Splash’s incumbent agencies, for Biolink Tea Tree Oil, before displacing BBDO Guerrero Ortega, the incumbent on the Biolink Virgin Coconut Oil account after a two-way pitch.

Fernando Villar (pictured), MD of McCann Erickson Philippines, commented: “We had very strong consumer insights that came through in our creative work. An ad from our winning pitch has aired and has been doing well for the brand, so both the client and us are very happy with the results.”

Splash Corporation posted profits of US$3.7 million in 2007 and is the biggest local player, ranked sixth behind multinationals including Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, and Unilever, in the US$2 billion personal care market.
