McCann narrows field for Naus role

McCann Erickson Guangming Hong Kong managing director Rosanna Yu has confirmed the agency is already considering several candidates to replace outgoing chairman and executive creative director, Geoff Naus, who will return to the US in April.

Creative team heads Martin Lever, Albert Wong and Danny Chan will handle creative duties until Naus' successor is appointed, with Yu assuming his executive duties. Although it is not clear how many candidates are in the running for the ECD position, Yu said, ideally, a decision would be made before April 31. "There are candidates who require notice periods, but we'd like someone to be on board as soon as possible," she said. Prompted by family reasons, Naus said the decision to return home to the US would allow him to take a break from the industry, and to concentrate on a personal online project, which he declined to give details about.
