McCann HK scores two new property accounts

HONG KONG - McCann Worldgroup Hong Kong has scooped two new creative accounts: The Shoppes at Four Seasons of Venetian Macau and the Happy Harbour under OCT (Overseas Chinese Town) in Shenzhen.

For the Shoppes at Four Seasons' account, McCann pitched against two Singaporean agencies, which previously worked for the Four Seasons Hotel elsewhere in Asia. Ogilvy was the incumbent agency on the launch of the Venetian casino but did not take part in the Shoppes pitch.

Spencer Wong, MD of McCann Hong Kong said “we presented directly to Stephen Weaver, Asian region president of Las Vegas Sands Corporation, who liked our creative work, and we have the right chemistry as we have extensive experiences in working on luxury brands like MasterCard and the Elements, and have good understanding of their consumer target coming from mainland China, Taiwan and other Asian countries.”

Across the border, the Happy Harbour in Shenzhen is one of the largest local development projects ever undertaken in China, backed by an investment of not less than Rmb 10 billion (US$1.3 billion).

McCann won the four-year creative account following a pitch that included Ogilvy and Leo Burnett.
