McCann hires account director for MasterCard account

SINGAPORE - McCann Erickson has hired former Euro RSCG Paris account director Benjamin Arthur (pictured) to run its MasterCard business across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.

Reporting to Southeast Asia area director Mark Ingrouille, Arthur begins in his new role as regional business director with a brief to boost the credit card's growth in the region and improve creative standards.

He replaces Stephen Powers, who has moved to a management role at MRM in Shanghai.

Arthur was previously at Euro RSCG in Paris, where he ran the Danone
account. Prior to that, the Englishman had stints at Lowe in London, where he began his career, and Prague, working on Unilever, Pepsi and Nestle.

While in Prague he moved to McCann, overseeing clients including Coca-Cola, Danone and Unilever. He later moved to McCann in Bangkok, teaming up with Ingrouille.

"MasterCard is expanding rapidly in region. It's an ambitious, high growth client, and 'priceless' is probably the most successful global campaign of the past ten years," said Ingrouille. "Going forward, Benjamin will be looking to grow the business and take 'priceless' into new areas."
