Complete Medical Group (CMG) will sit within McCann Healthcare and will be run by Dr Phil Mitchell, who joins as Asia Pacific regional director.
“Pharmaceutical, nutrition and wellness brands are increasingly influenced by government regulation as well as doctors' and consumers' demands for clear and robust evidence to support health-based claims - which demands a more specialist approach," said Rohit Sahgal, MD, McCann Healthcare Singapore.
CMG will focus on education and the "editorial development" of health information for consumers, doctors and policy makers, added Sahgal.
Once the unit has established a broader client base, the plan is to expand the offering regionally. Dr Mitchell was hired from medical communications agency Churchill Communications Japan where he was president.
