McCann-Erickson restructures in HK
<p>McCann-Erickson has beefed up its Hong Kong operation in a bid to </p><p>sharpen its competitive edge. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>One of the major changes has been to reorganise its structure to make </p><p>the agency flatter and, therefore, more efficient and adaptable to </p><p>changing market conditions. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"In the past, our structure was vertical with a few large groups that </p><p>handled many accounts," McCann-Erickson Guangming, Hong Kong managing </p><p>director, Rosanna Yu, told MEDIA. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"To remedy that and focus attention on quality and efficiency, we </p><p>flattened the structure and re-organised staff into more groups with </p><p>fewer people." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Ms Yu, who has been at the helm for the past eight months, has also </p><p>restructured the senior management team. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>They include Mr Roid Sin, formerly of Lintas, who comes in as media </p><p>director. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Geoff Naus has been given the executive creative director's </p><p>assignment. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>He had worked as ECD for long-time McCann client Cathay Pacific for the </p><p>past four years. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Meanwhile, Asia-Pacific consumer insight director David McCaughan has </p><p>relocated to Hong Kong from Thailand and his major task is to upgrade </p><p>McCann's strategic product. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>He will implement the agency's proprietary strategic tools, manage the </p><p>training of local staff and be involved in local business </p><p>opportunities. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Ms Yu said, "This year we have one objective in mind: to push the agency </p><p>product and the creative, account servicing and media planning to new </p><p>highs." </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
