Khubchandani joins from On-Target Marketing Solutions, which has been operating as M&C’s direct marketing arm. He replaces M&C Malaysia co-founder TH Chong, who left in April to join local radio network AMP Radio. Agency MD Lara Hussein has been running day-to-day operations in the meantime. “I’ve been working with M&C for some time and we have good chemistry,” said Khubchandani. “Lara has been looking for a GM for a while and convinced me to take the role. But I will be wearing two hats, as I’ll continue to run On-Target too.”
Khubchandani founded On-Target Marketing Solutions in 2004. He has also had stints at Thompson Connect (later Conquest, now RMG Connect) in Malaysia after moving from India.
There, he worked on the client side at Sheraton Hotels before moving to Lintas and Ogilvy Direct.
Khubchandani started his career in marketing in 1984, when he was a brand manager at Philips.
