Mayora selects DDB Brainstorm for brand launch

JAKARTA - Mayora, one of Indonesia's biggest food companies, has assigned DDB Brainstorm a brief to handle the launch of a new product, after a two-way pitch.

The campaign for the unnamed product will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.

Mayora, first established in 1977, is one of the most powerful brands in Indonesian food industries. The company manufactures and markets a large number of products, including biscuits, confectionery, chocolate, nutrition and coffee. Mayora products are available in most parts of Southeast Asia, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Africa, North America and Italy. Some of its popular brands include Roma, Beng Beng, Sando, Astor and Torabika. The company went public in 1990 and currently employs 5,300 people.

DDB Brainstorm worked with Mayora from 2005 to 2007 handling Milkuit biscuit. The agency’s general manager Veronica Windoe said: “The new assignment for one of Mayora new brands would be a great challenge for the agency and also another exciting opportunity to be part of Mayora’s growth.”
