Maxis selects Lowe for Indon launch

JAKARTA - Maxis Communications has appointed Lowe to handle its advertising and promotions as the Malaysian telecommunications giant prepares to launch a new brand in Indonesia.

Maxis owns a 44 per cent equity stake in local telco operator Natrindo Telepon Seluler, and the company has plans to launch a new telco brand called Axis into the Indonesian market.

Lowe secured the business after a pitch against Ogilvy & Mather and local agency Oze, and has a brief to drive customer acquisition and retention for Axis.
