TBWA won Whiskas across Asia-Pacific, as well as Mars, Twix and Dove in Australia and Southeast Asia. Its Australia agency will also work on Maltesers, Seeds of Change and Dolmio.
For its part, BBDO snared Skittles, Cesar, Snickers and M&M's in Southeast Asia. Its Korea office became the sole Mars agency in the country after taking the Dove and Twix brands. Both TBWA and BDDO won the accounts following presentations at Mars offices around the region. TBWA, meanwhile, has had to resign Cadbury in Australia, Malaysia and Singapore.
The realignment has resulted in D'Arcy laying off 15 people in its Beijing office.
D'Arcy Asia-Pacific president Garry Titterton said that the Beijing shop would not be closed down and that the Shanghai and Guangzhou offices have not been affected. No other redundancies are likely, according to senior executives, however, Titterton said that a restructuring of the Hong Kong office will see the departure of Greater China managing director, Ken Wright, and Hong Kong executive creative director, Marc Lucas.
