Malaysia's Ministry of Health issues tender

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia's Ministry of Health has issued a tender for a four-month advertising campaign to raise awareness of the hereditary blood disorder thalassaemia.

Agencies have until 25 August to submit their credentials, and are required to pay RM50 (US$15) for the tender document.

The campaign is expected to target thalassaemia patients, medical professionals and the general public.

Couples who carry thalassaemia have a high probability of having a child with the disease, which requires regular blood transfusion to replace damaged blood cells.

Thalassaemia effects 5 per cent of the Malaysian population.
