KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE
Strategically located in the prestigious Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the centre) has two auditoriums, 9,700 sqm of column-free exhibition space, a grand ballroom, conference hall, banquet hall and another 20 meeting rooms with the most recent in telecommunications, multimedia support and high-speed internet connectivity. The centre is one of two convention centres worldwide to be the first in the industry to achieve Green Globe Benchmarked status for environmental sustainability.
Distance from airport: The centre is 75km from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, which is 28 minutes from the city via the KLIA Express train service.
Nearest hotels: World-class hotels and specialist boutique offerings are sprinkled within easy walking distance of the centre.
The ultra-modern 571-room Traders and 643-room Mandarin Oriental are both within the
KLCC precinct. If you want to stay off-site, the Westin is a 15-minute walk away.
Recent clients: In the lead up to the second leg of this year’s Formula One race at the Sepang
International Circuit in April, the centre was the host venue for the pre-race gala dinner.
ITEX 07 (the 18th International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition) was held in May and had 9,650 attendees.
Automechanika Asia, between March 29 and April 1, saw 5,480 buyers. Hagemeyer Australia’s 9th Connections Conference and Trade Expo saw 850 delegates and the 12th Asia Oil and Gas Conference (AOGC) last month saw 1,200 delegates.
