The once-troubled airline has invited seven agencies to submit their credentials and a case study by 25 September, said a spokesperson from MAS. However, it is expecting more entries following a public announcement.
Three agencies will be shortlisted for presentations in mid-October and the results are tipped to be announced by month’s end. According to sources, the brief encompasses the redesign and maintenance of the airline’s website. “It involves everything that comes with the website, including the online booking system. This is definitely a big account,” said a source.
Incumbent Arc Worldwide Malaysia would not be reached for comment. The pitch comes less than a year after MAS parked its media and creative businesses with WPP’s Mindshare and Ogilvy & Mather respectively (Media, 1 December). Recently, it reported its fourth consecutive quarterly profit for the second quarter of 2007, after losing RM1 billion (US$292 million) in 2005.
