MAA calls on 4As to clarify issues

The Malay-sian Advertisers Association (MAA) has called for the country's Association of Accredited Advertising Agents (4As) to review the six points raised in response to the latter's implementation of pitch fees for advertisers, which took effect on January 1.

MAA president Shahar Noor said the six points raised were to straighten "a few technical issues" . While Shahar declined to give details, Media has learned that the six points include concerns over the tiered fee structure, the exemption of credentials presentations, the 60-day disbursement period, and the retention of 10 per cent of the pitch fee by the 4As. Ninety per cent of the pitch fee paid by the advertiser will be released to the unsuccessful ad agencies involved in the pitch, while the remaining 10 per cent would be retained by the 4As for its working and development fund.
