Lowe Vietnam has secured the integrated business for Total Lubricant, beating the incumbent Phibious.
Lowe's scope extends to corporate, PCMO (Passenger Car Motor Oil), diesel and industrial engine oils, with the motorbike category remaining with the incumbent agency.
"Winning a prestige brand on credentials always feels great," said Vikas Mehta (pictured), managing director at Lowe in Vietnam. "The lubricants business in Vietnam is a fast-growing one and we look at our Total win as an opportunity to drive innovations in consumer engagement."
He added, "It's a fragmented category driven by product performance. A trusted brand would be key to building a success story for Total in Vietnam."
The transition takes effect immediately and the agreement is based on an annual renewal basis.
Total has presence in exploration and production of oil and gas, manufacturing and distribution of lubricants and distribution of LPG in the Southeast Asian country since 1980. Currently it has seven subsidiaries, with more than 700 employees in Vietnam.
Recently it signed a deal to buy 100 per cent of ExxonMobil shares of its Vietnam holding company for its lubricants and specialties business in Vietnam.
