Lowe beat Contract Advertising and Rediffusion Dentsu Young & Rubicam for the account to launch the company's new generation of mobile handsets and accessories. Sony-Ericsson general manager, Sudhin Mathur, said: "Sony-Ericsson is a new entity, and globally its vision is to be seen as an innovative company, with imaging, gaming, connectivity and entertainment as its hallmarks. We want to reach people who are young at heart and enjoy technology."
The Indian mobile market is expected to grow by 80 per cent to 10 million handsets this year. Sony-Ericsson is entering a crowded field with Nokia, Siemens, Panasonic and Samsung among the major players.
