Lowe Thailand chairman to retire

BANGKOK - Charuvarn Vanasin (pictured), chairman of Lowe Thailand, is to retire at the end of June.

Her relationship with Lowe will continue in her new role of chairman Emeritus. A Lowe spokesperson said that Vanasin’s role would not be filled.

While operating as chairman of Lowe Thailand, Vanasin also oversaw Lowe operations across Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Vietnam.

Vanasin, who began her career at Presko, in Thailand, joined Lowe Thailand in 1996 after a 13-year period as CEO of JWT Thailand.

Last year, Lowe Thailand was the most successful Thai agency at Cannes Advertising Festival.

Vanasin said she felt “fortunate” in her choice of Lowe. “The network’s unshakeable focus on creative excellence gives everyone a clear beacon to follow and this guides all decisions,” she said.

Tony Prehn, chief executive officer, Lowe Thailand, added: “Every agency needs a strong and charismatic leader to shape its culture, drive for excellence and to inspire the next generation of industry professionals.”
