Winston, who began his advertising career in London in 1977, has worked on Unilever brands for 25 years in Australia, the US and the UK.
In his new Shanghai-based role, Winston will handle Unilever, Johnson & Johnson and Audi and oversee a creative team of 40 in Lowe's Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai offices. "At JWT (which he joined after completing a graphic design course) I started the relationship with Unilever and it has been 25 years now," he said.
Winston, who has won prizes at Cannes, D&AD, Clio and London International Advertising Awards, joined Lintas as creative director from 1994 to 2000.
He said that his goal at Lowe would be to raise the standard of work and to produce an environment for creativity to flourish.
