Lowe China appoints new head of planning

SHANGHAI - Lowe China has appointed Baiping Shen (pictured), most recently the national China planning director for Leo Burnett, to be the new head of planning starting from 1 May, replacing Mike Foster who resigned last month.

Shen has 15 years of advertising experience in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Australia and has worked on an array of MNC accounts including Coke-Cola, China Mobile, Hewlett Packard, Li Ning, Mars, Motorola, McDonald’s, Procter & Gamble, Shanghai General Motors, Sony Ericsson, Wrigley, among others.

“In these difficult times, we will need thought leadership to help our clients to communicate and spend smartly, and be relevant to the local consumers,” said Kitty Lun, chairman/CEO of Lowe China.

“It was my mission to find a strong Chinese head of planning indigenous to the country and culture, with the best consumer insight. I consider getting him to join us is a really fantastic boost to our agency's offering,” she added.

Shen will work in the Shanghai office but will look after the Greater China region. He will report to Lun and work closely with the ECD Ng Tian It on all of Lowe’s client portfolios.
