Linus Cheung resigns from ATV after one year

HONG KONG - The board of directors of Asia Television (ATV) has announced that it has accepted the resignation of Linus Cheung (pictured) as chairman and director of ATV, effective today.

No explanation has been given for his resignation nor details of his immediate replacement.

In a press statement ATV said: “We appreciate the very good work and contribution that Linus Cheung has contributed to ATV and wish him the best in all his endeavours in the future.”

Cheung joined ATV on  3 December, 2008 with Ricky Wong Wai Kay as CEO. However, Wong resigned after only 12 days citing personality clashes with Cheung. In March, ATV named Nancy Hu Gin-Ing as its new chief executive officer.

Earler this year, ATV laid off 207 members of staff in a one-off downsizing arrangement.
