Liew takes helm at Upstream SEA
Upstream Asia has named industry veteran Mike Liew as its Singapore and Southeast Asia MD, as the agency eyes expansion into new markets.

Liew (pictured), who was previously a executive director at GolinHarris Singapore, becomes the first MD of Upstream Singapore and SEA since Susanna Archibald departed in 2003. Since then, both Upstream regional COO Paul Mottram and, latterly, Singapore director and general manager Ong Seow Chong have overseen the Singapore office.

Upstream's Singapore office currently makes up its SEA presence, although corporate and financial specialist Liew confirmed that the agency is looking at entering Malaysia and Indonesia.

"I'm very passionate about technology and they want to do more corporate stuff so it's a perfect fit," said Liew.

Meanwhile in China Shufen Tan has been named director and general manager, China, based in Shanghai, along with Alex Wu, who will head up the Beijing operation as director.
