Liew takes charge as Alchemy chief Foo departs

Alchemy managing partner and CEO Chris Foo is departing his position at the agency he co-founded in January 2005.

Alchemy COO Michael Liew (pictured) will now head the agency as managing partner. Liew told Media that the agency will now adjust its management structure according to three operating partners: himself, along with creative Alvin Wong and Rajesh Mulani. Liew added that Foo's departure was always planned, but came earlier than expected due to the agency's strong financial performance over the past two years.

"We're confident that with the solid foundations that (Chris has) helped us build, we'll be able to take the agency to new heights as we head into our third year," said Liew.

"Since we've achieved our three-year target of establishing the agency in two years, I'd like to move on now to pursue my other interests," said Foo in a statement. Prior to Alchemy, Foo was COO at Batey Singapore.
