Leong, who joined in May last year, will continue to fulfill his duties for the next four months or so, then he will move on. He has yet to decide on his next career choice.
"I am considering my options. I need to make sure my next move is the right one," said Leong, who was strategic marketing director of Ben-Q Siemens before joining Aegis.
"There is a good crowd at Aegis, but for me the media business is too price-driven. I want to move on to a role that is less about talking dollars and cents, and where I can use my 20 years of planning experience to solve client problems," he added.
Patrick Stahle, Aegis Media's regional CEO, commented: "Richard is a great guy with a brilliant strategic mind.
He will be with us for a further few months until he is ready to move on. We will be parting company as friends."
