LEADER: Where are the judges from Asia?

D&AD's introduction of a new category for non-English language entries recognises that English is not the main lingua in a large part of the world.

But is it enough to simply introduce a new category in recognition that as much as 60 per cent of its entries arrive from international markets?

It's a good first step that a separate board of judges has been put together, but there are far too few from Asia to fully applaud D&AD's inaugural attempt. Only when there is a wider representation from the region to recognise the nuance and shades that make non-English work quite different would D&AD have made a real difference.
