Le Meridien Khao Lak aims for November 2005 re-opening

After conducting an assessment of both properties, the luxury hotel operator has ascertained that the damages caused will require substantial repairs. Current reservations from the two hotels have been re-directed to either Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club or to other hotels. Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort and Le Méridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort is offering guests and tour operators either a waiver of cancellation penalty or switching pre-paid deposits to credit notes for future reservations, for booking made up till 31 March and 31 October 2005 respectively. Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort and Le Méridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort anticipate re-opening no earlier than 1 April and November 2005 respectively. The group's other hotels in locations affected across the region reported no injuries or damage, namely Le Royal Méridien Baan Taling Ngam, Koh Samui, Le Méridien Nirwana Golf & Spa Resort, Bali, Le Méridien Fisherman's Cove, Seychelles and Le Méridien Ile Maurice, Mauritius. Le Méridien properties in India have not been affected.
