Larry Rinaldi departs Haier

QINGDAO - Larry Rinaldi (pictured), the chief brand officer who joined Haier in late 2007, is departing his position with the Chinese white goods giant.

Haier spokesperson Han Xiao Hua told Media that Rinaldi was leaving the company for “personal reasons”.

“It is a pity he is leaving,” said Han. “He will still contribute to the company on a consultancy basis.”

“I resigned, and it’s for personal reasons. It’s a situation that was affecting me personally. I will remain a consultant for the company,” said Rinaldi.

Since joining Haier, Rinaldi had been in charge of the company’s Olympic marketing campaign, for which he recently hired a range of agency partners, including DDB, Initiative and Burson-Marsteller. With the Olympics less than five months away, the fate of these relationships remains unclear.
