Land Rover goes experiential for new RSS model

Land Rover has extended its offering in Thailand with the launch of super-luxury Range Rover Sport (RRS), targeting buyers who want a sports utility vehicle (SUV) with the handling of a high-end sports car.

"Range Rover Sport is targeted at those who like the idea of an SUV, but aren't prepared to accept 'less crisp on-road performance'," said Richard Haigh, president, Land Rover Thailand. "(RSS) brings another dimension to the brand; a vehicle that handles like some of the best sporting saloons." At 6.28 million baht (US$152,000), the RSS is an expensive car in Thailand, which has a small consumer base, Haigh added. "We are, thus, veering away from traditional activities and more into experiential marketing." Land Rover Thailand held a 'Breed Apart(y)' event in Hua Hin, and the RSS will make its first public appearance at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2005, from December 1 to 12 at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre in MuangThong Thani.
