Kwong takes charge of Publicis Greater China

HONG KONG - Publicis Hong Kong CEO Laurie Kwong (pictured) has been handed a new role as CEO of the agency's new Greater China unit, overseeing China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Kwong will retain her Hong Kong role, but will now oversee the 500-strong offering across the three markets. Publicis China CEO Sheena Jeng and Publicis Taiwan CEO Sylvia Cheng will now report into Kwong, who continues to report into Publicis Asia CEO Matthew Godfrey and Publicis Asia CCO Calvin Soh. “Her key task will be forming a Greater China community which collaborates together to enhance our brand,” said Godfrey. “She will lead a Greater China board to work closely with our excellent and dedicated management team to achieve this.”

Godfrey added that the new structure would enable a greater focus on Greater China, in the same manner as Publicis South Asia, which is headed by CEO Nakul Chopra. Almost 50 per cent of Publicis Asia’s staff strength is now based in Greater China. “It is essential to treat this fast-growing market as a single contagious community,” said Godfrey.
