The Korean National Tourist Organisation (KNTO) convention bureau is looking to boost its conference, exhibition and incentive (CEI) business following the 15billion won (US$15million) Visit Korea 2001 programme.
"The KNTO is using events during 'Visit Korea 2001' and the World Cup in 2002 to promote Korea's CEI market too," KNTO convention bureau assistant manager Mr Hong Sung-Jong said.
The EXCO (Exhibition and Convention Centre) Taegu opens next May, with seven conference halls, seating up to 496.
The Pusan Exhibition and Convention Center will open in September 2001 with a conference hall for 2,489. In 2003 the International Conference Centre Jeju will provide a 3,500-seat main hall.
