Korail appoints Diamond Ogilvy in Korea

SEOUL - Korean public railway service Korail has selected Diamond Ogilvy to handle its creative and media accounts, following a pitch that included TBWA and Cheil Worldwide.

Diamond Ogilvy Group president Jay Paik, while unavailable for comment on the value of the account, explained that the agency would “aim to achieve Korail’s marketing goal with diverse interactive marketing vehicles”.

Work was already in progress, he said, that would appeal to the public’s sense of nostalgia for railway travel.

Based in Daejeon, Korail is a public enterprise that operates both passenger and freight railway services across South Korea.
