Key executives at McCann Microsoft team depart

ASIA-PACIFIC - Two key executives working on the Microsoft business at McCann Worldgroup have left the agency.

These include Nicci Millar Gallo (pictured), the regional business director of Microsoft based out of Singapore and June Lyloc (Li Jun), the vice-president and leader on Microsoft in China.

McCann Worldgroup in China has witnessed a series of account losses and personnel movement including lay-offs in the last one year.

In June, the agency announced it was merging the creative teams of McCann Erickson and MRM in Beijing.

This month Microsoft shifted the global creative of its Office business suite to JWT after moving the global creative duties on Microsoft business solutions products last year. In both cases the incumbent was McCann Erickson. One source explained that Microsoft was shifting its agency arrangements to be much more US-centric.

Gallo, who has worked with McCann for nine years, was given business development responsibilities at the agency in November last year. Her stint with the agency has seen her work with McCann Hong Kong in the Cathay Pacific team and managing Coca-Cola, Nestlé and Microsoft.

Meanwhile Lyloc’s departure follows the shift of Microsoft’s CRM business to Y&R agency Wunderman in China. Henry Ho (Ho Man-Syria), group business director of the agency, will take over June's responsibility.

On her departure, Gallo said: “I left McCann on great terms after a fantastically varied and interesting nine years. Come the New Year, I’ll be actively looking for a new role with an opportunity to put my strategic and digital skills, in particular, to good use”.
