Kenyon named rmg HK head

JWT has named former Cathay Pacific marketer Nicki Kenyon managing director of its below-the-line operation rmg:connect.

Kenyon, who spent seven years with Cathay in a variety of internal roles -- from sales reservations to marketing -- will head up rmg:connect Hong Kong and mainland China.

The network, in which JWT holds a majority stake with OgilvyOne owning a minority stake, already has offices in Malaysia, India, Japan and Australia and aims to expand JWT's non-advertising based revenue. "Rmg on its own is an entity of OgilvyOne, an extension of the Ogilvy network whereby conflict clients are managed by rmg. On a global basis, rmg:connect has been in existence for three years -- it started in Europe as a joint venture between Ogilvy and JWT," explained Kenyon.

"From January 1 it was announced that rmg:connect would become a global entity, part of the WPP group."

Kenyon, who has an extensive client background, was assistant manager of the Marco Polo Club before leaving its Hong Kong office for a post in Australia. "The Marco Polo Club at that time had about 48,000 members worldwide. It was very much a pure loyalty programme, really about recognition. I knew many of the members personally," Kenyon said.

Kenyon went on to join Star TV's Channel V network, where she launched the HSBC-Channel V co-branded credit card in Hong Kong and Taiwan. After a year's stint at an executive research firm in 1997, she moved to manage the Qantas Telstra Visa card programme at Telstra Corporation before taking a role at Singleton OgilvyOne. She was most recently brand manager at Foxtel.
