Kao Indonesia narrows field to two

JAKARTA - Dentsu and Hakuhodo are going head to head in a pitch for the estimated US$15 million Indonesian media business of Kao Corporation.

The Japanese agencies saw off Indonesian media agency Activate to make it through to the final round, and made their presentations last week.

The brief will cover Kao's complete portfolio of brands, which include soaps, detergents, shampoos and sanitary products.

The Japanese consumer goods giant's reported a 1.6 per cent rise in first quarter profits this month, to Yen 13 billion (US$109 million).
