JWT beats Ogilvy to Bumi brief

JAKARTA - Indonesian energy giant Bumi Resources has awarded its branding business to JWT, seeing off Ogilvy & Mather in a final round of pitching.

The account, rated at US$1 million, will involve rebranding the company using above- and below-the-line media, and marketing its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The assignment follows the passing of a law by the government mandating companies that exploit natural resources to invest in CSR programmes.
