JSK launches green advertising initiative

HONG KONG - Boutique agency JSK Asia Creative has launched an environmentally-friendly initiative, whereby the carbon footprint of ad campaigns and photo shoots can be offset by the purchase of verified emission reduction credits (VERs).

The printing, shipping, distribution and air travel that print and television production entail generate greenhouse gases - such as carbon dioxide - which in turn contribute to global warning.

JSK estimates the amount of emissions generated by photo shoots or campaigns and then buys the equivalent tonnage of VERs, which ensures that the production is carbon neutral and bolsters the growth of the renewable energy sector. This can be done either on behalf of the production, the photographer, or the client.

“This is an easy way for the advertising industry to be environmentally responsible,” says JSK founder Jessica Spencer Kentrup.
